Bahá'í Faith - Carlton, Gedling

"Let your vision be world embracing rather than confined to your own selves."

Welcome to the website of the Bahá'í community in Carlton, Gedling, on the east side of Nottingham. The community here was established around 1980. We are a group of individuals and families who believe in Bahá'u'lláh and His message of peace and unity.
We are passionate about our beloved Faith, and have been active over the years working to bring friendship, peace and respect for others in and around the district with celebration of our festivals, picnics, walks, tree plantings, and of course running study groups for adults and youth and classes for children.
These activities are not just for our declared believers to attend. Anyone from the district can come and find out about the Bahá'í Faith and its teachings.

Contact us if you wish to find out more, or to come to one of our meetings.

Our Beliefs

There is One God
One Humanity
All religions come from the same Source
Equality of men and women
Elimination of prejudice
There is a solution to the problems we all face in the world, based on kindness and generosity, friendship and mutual respect. We need to abandon our prejudices and learn to love each other.
There is no clergy in the Bahá'í Faith

Our Activities

We hold regular devotional evenings, open discussion gatherings, study groups for adults and youth, classes for children. We celebrate our Holy Days; visit the sick, elderly and lonely. We go on walks and have picnics. We join in with events arranged by Nottingham Inter Faith Council and other organisations to promote friendship and respect.
Our meetings and devotionals include prayers for the local area and for named individuals and families. Contact us if you want to come to any of these events, or if you wish to have someone mentioned in our prayers.
